Resurrection Art Show at the Gear Factory Opening Night in Syracuse, NY
Its showtime! With 142 artists showing work this wasnt a show to miss! Every style, every medium, every walk of life was represented here tonight! There was fine art, there were masterful illustrations, sculptures, installations, murals, oil paintings, acrylic paintings, pastels, and watercolors, live performances, live painting, live body painting, cheap art, expensive art, good art, bad art, art subject to interpretation, and art misinterpreted, art made on drugs, art made drug free, and art that required drugs. There was something for everyone here and I hope anyone reading this can make it to this show next year!
Squidshop and I painted our murals, created new works of art, painted damn near everything we could get our hands and built an installation to house it all. Next step, live painting our 3 lovely models!
Wanting to keep our collaborative flow going, Squidshop and I each started to paint half of our model, switching once we finish our half. Here we have Squid getting started on painting Chandra
Squid's half is complete, getting started on my half
Chandra, nearing a full body of paint as Squid begins his half of painting Elora
Getting detailed on Elora
Two stunning works of art
A surprise from 3 1/2 hours south is one of the most talented artists I know, Will Teran,
hailing in from Newburgh, NY
and he brought FUEL to collaborate with while painting our third model Autumn, as a fully painted Chandra watches on
Two completed 8x8' murals by @SquidShop
A HUGE THANK YOU to our three stunning walking works of art, (from left to right) Elora, Chandra, and Autumn for letting us paint each of them!
The team behind making this huge art show possible! Thank you for the years of creative freedom within your space!

The show is over. The entire installation that Fred and I built has been broken down to fit inside a car along with a couple new paintings. The Gear Factory staff has all left. There are still paintings on the wall but pickup for the artist isnt until tomorrow. 10,000 sq. ft. is a loud silence. All I can hear is the echoing of Boyz 2 Men playing from the 3rd floor as Fred sings along. This mural is my fossil. The remains of a week in Syracuse. This mural is a time stamp of that week.. you remember that week? you do remember that week dont you? You slept in a car in upstate New York. In Novemeber. You slept on the couch of King Eben the Pizza Panda Prince. You slept on a floor. You spent 5 hours in the dead of night standing in a swamp even further upstate in Oswego, NY while it was sleeting with 60 mpg winds and mud up to your ankles listening to sheep walk in triangle shaped circles of false enlightenment... But fuck me SubShop can make a great sub when it's paired with bong hits, roach clips, and bowl rips. You painted every single day. You partied with naked women covered in paint and Birthday Squids FUELed by LSD with the Will to paint an entire wall in the drawings and scrawlings of a deranged lunatic suffering from withdrawals in the early morning sun
You created chaos, endured in chaos, slept through chaos, and for the right price could have slept with Chaos. From Paradise Found, she wanted to be a nuclear engineer, remember? You drank with old friends and made new ones.. You even made money throughout all of this! It's a good thing you painted this mural or you'd forget all of that wouldnt you?
